Shopping for your child during Christmas

Christmas is here! It is another time to get gifts for your child. What is it that you want to buy for him/her? Of course it is not the first time you are buying a gift for your child. One of the problems that we find as parents when it comes to buying gifts is to buy something that the child will be very excited about, and like it for the next one month. I believe that that is what every parent wants for their child. But have you ever found a gift that your child will continue to like for the next one month? This is my problem. Many times I have bought a gift to my 3yr old daughter thinking that it was the best for her and that she will like it. My daughter would usually get excited for the first 3 days and after that it is no longer important to her. I would find that her toy that i bought with a lot of money, actually lying outside our house untouched. It is frustrating, isn't it? Every parent wants what is best for their child. I find it is very difficult to know what to buy for my child especially this special season called Christmas. Are there any other parents who are in the same dilemma? Does anyone have a solution? Perhaps your experiences may be what I need and some other parent somewhere.
